CIPP tender announced in Turkey
A tender has been announced for a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining project in Izmir, Turkey.
Izmir Water and Sewage Administration (IZSU) has scheduled a tender meeting on 29 July 2019 at 3pm for the project, which involves the CIPP rehabilitation of 11 km of 300–400 mm diameter sewage pipelines.
Izmir is the third largest city of Turkey with the population of 4.2 million people.
After experiencing success with trenchless relining, IZSU decided to open the tender for the project, with the expectation it will announce more CIPP tenders in the near future, including larger diameter projects.
Currently, 200 km of CIPP and close-fit lining installations from 300 mm to 600 mm in diameter are in progress in Istanbul with completion expected by 2020.
Istanbul Water and Sewage Administration, which serves the largest city of Turkey with a population of 15 million people, is expected to announce 500km CIPP and close-fit tenders in 2020.
Trenchless developments in the region will be a highlight of the conference at No-Dig Turkey, taking place in conjunction with the fifth Water Loss Forum, at the Congresium International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Ankara, Turkey on 9–11 October 2019.
